People suck..Gas tank Sabotaged..need help
Thanks for any feedback
2006 Ford f-450 6.0 diesel
Someone decided to put a bunch of stuff in my gas tank. Truck was smoking and lacked power and then the "Water in Fuel" warning came on so i checked fuel filter. Was basically covered in some sort of paper or something. replaced fuel filter..replaced gas tank as i had an extra. Truck stills smokes and has no power at times.. went to midas hooked it up and they said it was "lean". i imagine all that crud that was in my tank is now caked on my injector/valves/glow plugs and this is what is causing my issues. But im not a mechanic and dont truly know. My question is, Should i
a. buy new heads
b. have someone rebuild/clean heads
c. replace motor
d. Please give me a D that doesnt involve a b or c
Let me know if you need more information
I appreciate any advice.
Thank you

Welcome to the site..
You replaced both primary 'and' secondary filters?
Water in the fuel is never good in high volumes and eventually will get past the primary/water trap. The system is 'return to tank' so fuel will be circulated throughout, so will water and the reason the Water in Fuel light needs to be addressed immediately when illuminated. Water is pretty easy to see in the fuel since it doesn't mix and will collect at the filter canister bottom, tank as well. Did you find water in the secondary filter housing?
Water will damage the injectors reasonably quick. If you removed all the fuel contamination and trash, I'd look towards the injectors as cause for the performance and drivability issues..

I did replace both filters. There was a significant amount of trash in the "secondary" filter, but really no water that i saw. after replacing filters the water in fuel warning shut off. Yesterday it was smoking bad. both black and white smoke, black on bottom white on top. never seen that one. Injectors make sense. Now the task is finding an honest mechanic here in San Antonio. Thank you very much for your reply. I will be back with an update. God Bless America
