Power windows conversion for 2012 f150
I just bought a 2012 f150. It has regular cab with no power windows and locks. My plan is to go to a junkyard and get the oem panels from another truck that has power windows. I saw in the forum that you had to get the wiring harness from the donor truck to make the power doors and windows work. Can anybody verify if this for this is true for this generation and if so am I going to need a module for the power windows and locks ?
thanks!
thanks!
Welcome to the site..
Have you thought about aftermarket?
I’ve used A1 Electric and installed PW/PL in non equipped vehicles.
Generally its much lower cost, less work and usually they sell switch kits etc so you don’t have to swap out door panels and such...

You didn’t..
You should only have to add the harness/s from the kick panels out. You may have to upgrade the BCM, the door lock/unlock relays are internal to the unit. The Door Ajar features are controlled by the BCM as well. If the BCM isn’t in the plan, you could add in stand alone relays for feature control. I can supply you with the schematics. Power distribution for both PW, PL comes through the ACC Delay relay in the BCM, which you would have already.
