Default V10 to V8?

I have a 2000 Ford F-250 super duty with a 6.8 V10 triton 5 spd. Manual. The motor is blown in it, I want to know if it’s possible to swap that motor out for a 5.4L V8 and if it’s possible, what am I looking at needing to swap those motors?

It might be cheaper in the long run to get a salvaged motor, same type, year, engine, as compared to changing a lot of electrical parts and many other parts.

What actually happened to the V10 ? What would the cost be to repair that engine?

Without a donor truck,, not cost/labor prohibitive...
Like hankys suggestion, I'd try and source out a quality, warrantied used. Long block is a option as well, but cost and labor a bit higher..
