newb w/2001 CVPI.
hello all my name is keith i live in lexington,ky have a 2001 crown vic .ex sheriff's bailiffs car 133,000 on it ..i really like it and looking to get another one day,...glad this site is here .thank you ...hope to get lots of info here ...i have posted on here already with a ???...now the weait is on...lol thanks guys .great site.

For your Posts/Replys within the last week just look below the sites 'FordForum' banner and within the brown tab bar click the drop down arrow next to "My Posts" and you have the options for the amount of days you need to view. Or, 'New Posts' will open any/all new posts you haven't read yet since your last visit here. You can also set your account to receive email notifications of reply's to your posts.
Another option for older 'or' if you want to see all your posts here is,,
Just below the FordForum banner and over to the right you'll see your personal 'Welcome mrmel',, click on your User Name and it will bring you to your User Profile page. Click on the 'Statistics' tab and over to the left you'll see Find all post and Threads started by mrmel

I'm working on the original distributor that is in a 1951 8-BA engine. The ignition does not advance when the engine speed is increased (checked with timing Light). I thought all distributors had a mechanical advance that is independant of the vacuum advance.
I attempted to remove the distributor drive gear to get under the ignition points plate
but the pin is frozen in place.
The original problem was a broken rotor when car was driven down the road. There was no reason for the rotor to break. Cap and rotor was replaced and vehicle now
runs. Noise is coming from cap when running.
Any clues or insights into the problem.
