Default 1979 302 explorer will not start

Okay so It all started when my transmission went out and the tail shaft on the transmission got bent because the bell housing cracked. So the truck vibrated very badly so I pulled over to the side of the road and i shut it off. Now six months later I get a new transmission in the truck and it will not start but it will fire all day long (note that I did not touch the truck until now and it ran perfectly fine before the transmission went out), I have tried different distributor, different carb, different computer, it has all new plugs and oddly if I leave the key off on the truck and I turn the engine over with a Hotwire to the starter solenoid it will still fire.

Welcome to the site..

If cranking with the key,, any spark present if tested? Or weak?

Not start but fire all day long? meaning cranking?
