2017 Ford 6.7 Delete Kit Question
Hey everyone,
I’m considering installing a delete kit on my 2017 Ford 6.7 Powerstroke but wanted to get some opinions from those who have experience with this mod. I’ve heard that it can improve performance and fuel efficiency, but I’m concerned about potential issues with emissions and the legal aspects.
Has anyone done the delete on this engine and seen noticeable improvements? Also, are there any risks or long-term effects to be aware of? I’d appreciate any feedback on the best kit options and how it’s been holding up for you!

You might want to look at some videos explaining the good and bad points of doing a delete on newer vehicles.
One of the questions that comes up is are you aware the vehicle computer has to be updated, which can be a little costly. If not updated engine damage can result.
There is more , suggest you do some homework on this before doing it.
Altering and tampering is ,well, illegal and some areas can come up with a stiff fine for that.
Have not been able to show where performance increase out weighs other costs.

Don't know how much difference kits make, but one of the things that comes to mind,
The engineers get paid a lot of $$$ to test and decide how to make some things and attempt to make it last and perform at a reasonable level and with some durability.
Altering to gain performance many times comes at a cost that is not easily seen right away. When we boost the engine without considering if the drive train can handle it over the long term, deserves some serious thought. Sometimes we wonder if they should last longer trouble free when purchased as original. lol.

I’ve looked into deletes on the 6.7 as well, and the big question a lot of us ask is whether a 6.7 cummins delete tuner would really be worth it. On the Powerstroke, the delete kits are usually paired with a tune, and people do see smoother EGTs and a bit better economy once the system isn’t constantly recirculating exhaust gases. Just be super clear: deletes on a Ford aren’t the same as a Cummins delete tuner — the hardware and software are different, and the emissions/legal side is a lot stricter on Powerstrokes.
