Has anyone inspected or bought a bank vehicle located in Cicero, Indiana?
Last month my brother was looking for a decent used truck and came across a few bank repossessed ones listed not far from there. He drove over an hour to check one out, but when he arrived the car had some hidden body damage that wasn’t visible in the photos and the interior smelled pretty bad. Felt like a waste of time and gas. Now I’m curious if others had better luck with vehicles in that specific area or if it’s usually hit or miss with these kinds of sales.
Lately it seems like more folks are chasing these kinds of deals because prices on regular lots keep climbing. You hear stories about people finding solid vehicles this way, but just as many mention unexpected repairs popping up weeks later. The whole process feels a bit like gambling sometimes, especially when the car is sitting in a smaller town like Cicero where options for quick mechanic checks might be limited. Weather and storage conditions can also play tricks on how the vehicle looks from the outside versus what’s really going on underneath.
Really depends on the day and the particular car, but I’ve learned the hard way that photos can hide a lot. Once I went after a similar bank vehicle thinking it was a steal, only to discover after getting there that the engine had some concerning noises and the mileage didn’t quite add up. These days I tend to look at bank repossessed cars with prices just to get a general feel for what’s out there before committing to a long drive. Still, nothing beats seeing the car in person, though even then surprises happen pretty often.
