Because manufacturers change specs every yer and some mid-year, we can't switch engines and parts like we used to do. What worked for 2015 might have been changed for model year 2017. If parts are the same like PCM , a dealership parts dept would know from VIN. If reluctor on 2015 crank pulley was changed for 2017 you would not see that and if mixed up could cause all kinds of problems. Suggest you stay with exact year and model if switching engines .
