Lightning strikes started fires right near our house, and a couple more 'delayed' fires have exploded from the prior days lightning strikes.

The now red orange sun and dense smoke has muted the beautiful green colors and made the valley look near colorless to black. Looks like 'War of the Worlds'. This image was taken on the bluff overlooking the valley. My place is just (3 miles) to the right of pyramid looking mountain (Bald Mountain). It is 'now' Bald.. The concern now for locals, not us, is the column to the right, only hours old at the time the image was taken. A third fire of equal size is burned to right and out of the image. I take my hat off for Cal Fire and all their support teams..

Had to evacuate.. Fire within a mile or so. 747 dropped a load of retardant and C47s got it stopped. So far so good for now. Horrible amount of fire, smoke and ash fall
