ORIGINAL: Sidewayz4.6

I've never hit anything. (knocking on wood) I got rear ended while stopped at a light once. The guy got out of the car and started yelling at me. Because it was a stick and I took my foot off the brake. But we both got arrested because the guy pushed me, and I cocked him one right in the jaw. Cop saw the whole thing.

Good times.

haha thats great way to snuff his *** in the jaw

An accident within six months of driving?...NOPE!.................I had been driving for 28 years before a guy ran a stop light and hit my 1980 Town Car. That was my first of two accidents...........none my fault. The second one I was rear ended in an 88' Ford station wagon

Maiden_Fan, I hope your friend is OK. I know it sucks that she just got her car and now its all messed-up, but the only thing that matter is that she is not hurt.
Car accidents happen. 2 years ago I hit a patch of ice, spun out and hit a telephone pole with my truck. It happens.
It sounds like your friend just made a foolish mistake, Im sure thats a lesson that she wont soon forget.

1 Accident, not my fault and god willing my last...I drive transport now and when you've got 150,000 pds (as we're allowed up here compared to the 80,000 we're allowed in the states) there ain't much left when you end up on the wrong end...so like I said, God willing my last...and I agree somewhat with roundman about the attitude of young people on the road these days...Rant On...I mean, I'm only 21, but man I see some wacky stuff these (and I don't mean to be general) but these damn kids with their riced up hondas with fartcan mufflers and million watt subwoofer systems jumpin along the road w/o regard for other users...man it really kills me to see someone in a 2,000 pound car cut in front of a 100,000 (conservatively) pound truck and jam on it's brakes just so they can be the first to the red light...I'm not sayin all truck drivers are saints, but in the end, it's more likely that the trucker walks away...I hate to see a life cut short because of a dumb mistake...but that's all it takes...man...i sound like my dad...well, guess thats a good thing...anyways, Rant Off...

The statement that " everyone has an accident in the first six months after getting their license" is not the norm. You guys do the math: I got my license in 1952, drove in the military for 24 years, Post Office for 14 years, school bus for 8 years & in 1997 a woman in a hurry to get to a Burger King ran a stop sign & hit me in my '93 CV broad side & totaled it. The only injury I suffered was when my air bag inflated & peeled the skin off my left arm. The secret? "Defensive driving. I trained school bus drivers for 5 years & told them the following," If you treat every motorist on the highway as if they are stupid, & prepare for the unexpected, sooner or later he/she will show you that you are correct".

I dodn't get into an accident my 1st 6 months. I actually have been in 2 this year. I am 33 now. Both others fault and nothing I could have done to get out of it. A woman in me while I was going to make a left in the center lane. She came across through stopped traffic from her apartments and didn't pay attention to the center lane. Then she tried to make a claim against my insurance. RETARD. First my damage was on the front side and hers was on the center of the front bumper. 2nd and even more stupid, she was UNINSURED. IN Cali, it is considered the fault of the driver who is uninsured since they technically are not suppose to be driving.

My second accident, I was at a stop light and someone rearended me. at about 50mph in a 35 mph zone. AND that was AFTER he skidded 200ft. SO he was hauling WAY OVER the limit. He had the minimum insurance which sucks. And he has a cheap *** insurance company so now there will be a fight.

SO now that the car is totalled, I am now going to get a bad dude mustang GT deluxe. I don't want the premium because I don't want leather seats and have the Shaker audio system.
