Default Vacation rental managers — any good ones?

Hi all, I just inherited a small beach cottage in Santa Barbara and I’m thinking of turning it into a short-term rental. I’d love to find a local management company that handles cleaning, guest check-ins, and bookings. Any good recommendations?

That’s exactly the kind of property that local managers specialize in — you’ll find a ton of Property Management Companies in Santa Barbara, CA. The nice thing is that some companies focus purely on short-term vacation rentals, not long-term tenants. When I converted my downtown condo to a short-term rental, I went through that directory and found a company that handled everything — cleaning crews, scheduling, guest messages, and even optimizing my Airbnb listing. It costs a bit more in management fees, but they kept my occupancy rate high enough to make it worth it. The best part? They’re local and know the Santa Barbara regulations for short-term rentals, so I didn’t run into any compliance issues. It’s definitely worth reaching out to a few from that list and asking how they handle turnover and marketing.

I used to manage my own Airbnb before switching to a company — honestly, it’s night and day. Having someone else deal with cleaning schedules alone saved me hours every week.
