Exclamation 1975 LTD with 351M/400

Have a problem and need some help.Working on a '75 LTD with a 351M/400 that dies during deceleration.Rebuilt the carb, replaced plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter and air filter, seemed to help some, but not completely. The sticker on the valve cover mentions the deceleration valve, anyone know what that is?The vacuum canister on the distributor has an extra port close to the distributor, but there is no nipple.I have an old Chiltons manual that makes reference to a vacuum retard port on the distributor, could that be the extra port on this distributor? If so, where does it get vacuum from? The car was bought second hand, don't know what has been done to it in the last 38 years.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is there a round solinoid on the carb next to throttle cable if there is one then you can adjust it to stop it from decelerating to fast and you need to adjust your curb idle speed to stop it from dying when it warms up
