Default 1990 ea Fairmont, relay behind fuse panel

Any ideas as to what the relay directly behind the fuse panel is for? it's got me stumped.
everything in the car seems to work except the A/C which the last owner had it in and out of the shop 5-6 times trying to get it to work. I wondered if this relay had something to do with it.
I've read through the posts I found about A/C problems to familiarise myself with how it works, so I can try to check the electrical side of it,, that said mines climate control, so this could throw a spanner in the works,
Cheers everyone

Hi guys, thanks for your help. I did some more research and found this article/post from JohnK https://forums.finalgear.com/questio...-system-51203/ on resetting the ford climate control, it's to do with a Ford Taurus, but pressing the floor and off buttons together seems to have reset the error with the link across the gas pressure sensor in place on the Falcon as well.

So all I have to do now is have it regassed and I should be away laughing, tho I did notice that the compressor clutch engages the moment I turn the climate control on, which by what I have read seems to be quite normal, to dehydrate the incoming air.
Yet I still don't know what the relay behind the fuse panel is for, oh well at least I made head way with the A/C
Thanks again

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING (Continued)
• To enter the self-test, press the OFF and floor buttons simultaneously and then press the AUTO button within two seconds. The display will show
a dashed line in the center of the climate control display window of the integrated control panel (ICP).

• The test may run as long as 30 seconds. Record all DTCs displayed. The self-test is completed when 888 appears in the center of the climate
control display window of the ICP.

• To exit the self-test and retain all intermittent Air Temperature Powertrain DTCs, press the ‘‘—’’ (cooler) side of the TEMP Sensor Circuit Control/Emissions
button. The RCC module will exit the self-test High Diagnosis(PC/ED)and retain all intermittent DTCs.

• To exit the self-test and clear all DTCs, press the front defrost button. All RCC module DTCs will be cleared.

• Always exit the self-test before powering the system down (system turned off).
