Newbie in need of some information...
Hello there, I am the fng on this forum and I am having a real hard time finding an oil pan to fit the 4.6 DOHC I am putting into my 57 Ranchero.
The engine will fit really nice once I find an oil pan that has a front sump to clear the cross member and steering on the Ranchero.
The engine and transmission I am using came from a 95 Lincoln Mark VIII.
I was told the Mustang used the 4.6 with a front sump, that is not so true come to find out.
Someone help an old guy out and tell me what front sump oil pan will fit this engine!?
I come from the OTHER SIDE, having been a dealership tech for thirty five years, General Motors.... I can tell you anything you want to know about GM garbage, but I am new to Ford. I was a dyed in the wool Mopar guy for ever, then came the day a guy wanted to trade my 51 Plymouth Concord for his 57 Ranchero. I am now a convert and want to make amends for my previous sinful ways. Help me find the oil pan I need to make this engine swap happen....
Hopefully the pictures came through.
First one is the Ranchero in question
Second is my 1929 REO Flying Cloud Standard Brougham
Third is the 51 Plymouth I traded for the Ranchero
