Default Ranchero Steering Problems

I have a 1966 Ranchero. It is giving me fits trying to get the steering adjusted.
Can anyone tell me the manufacturer of the manual steering box?

I have adjusted the steering slack considerably trying to get the car to straighten out by itself and have not had any luck. Driving the vehicle over 20 mph is very scary. Can anyone give me an idea of what I need to be checking or what to do to resolve this issue?

I have a 1967 Motors Auto Repair manual and would like to know the name of the gear box as this would give me some information.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

If ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I am not mistaken , there were 2 companies that made steering boxes then,. Saginaw and Ross.. The set up procedure is the same for either one.

You adjust the steering shaft worm gear preload first ,,then the sector shaft second.. Just make sure when you adjust the sector it is on the high point , If you do it anywhere else it will bind when the gear is centered.
