I have an 85 cougar Yes, Cougar There are no post's for cougar
here or anywhere else. ( I've looked high and low) So I'll post here
in the T Bird section. They are close cousins. I took my 1985
mercury cougar in to get it smogged and they said the fuel pressure is too
high. Any Ideas? It's thottlebody injected V6

It's california smog...When you hook up a car to the machine ALL info about the car
goes straight into the computer, Even the odo. reading on these electronic cars.
They can even tell what it is Make, Model motor, tranny, EVERYTHING! All they
have to do is hook it up. These new machines cost 1/4-3/4 a million dollars!

My mom had a 1967 [?] Cougar, baby blue with baby blue interior. Automatic with 289. It was a beautiful car. I dug the sequencing turn signals.
And dad was cruising around in his primrose yellow with fake wood sides, 1967 [?] Mercury Marques Station Wagon. I think it was a 390 cu in.
We mostly had Ford products. Thundering turds, Mercs, Lincolns...big iron.
My H.S. Economics Teacher, Mr. Darell Lund had a XR-7 Cougar, British racing Green and some hot shoe wheels. I think he was the first guy I knew of who put big fat RADIAL tires on his ride, doing away with those deadly wide oval belted jobs that never missed an opportunity to jump into a crack and follow that crack off the road.
skip.
