I have a 2013 Ford F150 3.5 v6 EcoBoost…currently it’s having a shift flair or skip from 3-4 with an audible noise. No other gear issues. There’s no codes. It’s got 112,000 miles and I keep the service up with no problems. I live in a very rural area with no transmission shops. The local Ford dealership doesn’t have a shiny reputation but I did take it there. They said that they eliminated all the tested things (which couldn’t or wouldn’t list what those were). Their conclusion is either rebuild the tranny or replace it. I am wondering if any body else has came across something similar to this and could help me out? I just want to be sure that the diagnosis is somewhat accurate before I decide what to do. Thanks for any help that can be given!

 

If there are no other problems with the trans operation, I would suspect an internal problem that could only be verified by disassembly and inspection..

Unfortunately, you don't have much choice under the present circumstances.

Most problems like this rarely improve and may become more troublesome..
