Default 95 escort wagon trans blocked

I had the front on jacks for over a year. Now I can't get it out of neutral. It's not the shifter or the cable.
The lever on the trans where the cable is hooked up is rock solid.

Thanks for any suggestion

When a transmission sits it is vulnerable to condensation which lays under the oil (oil floats on water). The water (in the form of condensation) laid in the bottom of the trans. and rotted the lever into place. Take a big-*** monkey wrench (after youdisconnect the shifter cable from the arm) and put the jaws on the thin edge of the arm (if possible) and try to jerk it around a little to free it up. Run the engine and when it warms double check your trans. fluid.
