Hi everyone .. I have a 2008 Lincoln Navigator, the problem seems to be related to the electronics of the transmission, when I first start the car everything seems to be completely fine, but when the car warms up (after about 10-20 mins), the transmission does not seems to able to pick the right gear, for example, sometimes, when the speed reaches 10 mph, the fifth gear is engaged, and won't change to the right gear (in this case the 1st or the 2nd gear), and sometimes when I'm driving at 100 mph, the 1st or the 2nd gear is engaged and also won't change to the correct gear (I know that because the rpm reaches 6000 rpm or even more and the Sound of the engine gets louder), can you please help me

 

I would sure like to know where it's legal to drive a hundred miles per hour. but getting to your problem one if not one or more of the sensors has gone bad like the engine speed on the input shaft or the speed sensor for the drive shaft. you might be better off taking it to a transmission shop for repair at least then you should get peace of mind if any thing should happen to go wrong

 

I don't know , but it seems like everybody wants to drive 100 miles an hour.

 

That's too dangerous for me. Just wanted to know where a person could if they wanted to leagally in the U.S.

 

Just kidding, Indianapolis Speedway, Pocono Raceway and A couple more like those.
There are some interstates where the speed limit is 65 and if you're not doing 80 they are practically in your trunk, and boy when they screw up, are they doosies ! It's like slot car races. Ask any race car driver, they feel safer on the track surrounded by 150+ mph cars than on any highway with the amateur racers. They will be the first to tell you those drivers are plain dangerous!

 

I wasn't talking about race tracks Hanky, I was meaning the on the road(s) now getting back to this persons problem, if you can or will try taking it to a dealer service center that suv ain't that old and I think that they still know how how to take and diagnose the problem.
