Transmission acting hard above 150 deg.
Hey all,
I have a 1993 F350 with a recently rebuilt transmission. I burnt the other one up not knowing any better about towing. When I had the transmission rebuilt/replaced I had the guy install a temperature gauge. We are in Las Vegas now and I have noticed something driving it around town. I've read that the proper operating temperature for a transmission is about 175. Without towing anything when the transmission gets about that temperature 150 and above. It is harder to get the truck moving. I have to use more throttle to do the same job as when it was colder. I know it is not the motor. It runs nice and cool. Is there something wrong with the rebuild? I have it going through another cooler trying to keep the temp lower. I know that once the hotter weather is over it will be fine, but if something is wrong I want it fixed. I also have to work to get it to shift into 3rd. Having to place with the gas pedal.
Thank you for your input in advance.
