transmission reverse problem

Default transmission reverse problem
I have a 2002 f350 4X4 diesel truck. Was backing a load in reverse, engine stalled, front seal popped out. I have replaced the seal but when put in reverse, engine boggs down and tries to die. Transmission shifts fine, otherwise. What could be my problem? Also, reverses fine when not backing a load.
