1995 Windstar Wipers and Power Windows
I searched but could not find this specific problem.
Front power windows and windshield wipers stopped working. I’m not terribly technical, but checked the fuses in the box to the left side under the dash and looked at the relay in the box in the engine compartment, but could see nothing obvious. The actual fuses do not appear to be blown and after replacing with new ones the problem is not resolved. I don’t know how to tell if a relay is bad.
Several years ago the van started with an undiagnosed parasitic draw, so in the end a friend installed a cut-off switch on the battery since the van is only driven about once per month, if that.
My 85-year-old mother loves her Windstar and it runs fairly well but it will not pass state inspection without functional wipers. I have no idea where to take such an old vehicle, and don’t want to spend too much for diagnostic since it isn’t worth much.
If anyone can offer advice it will be greatly appreciated. In Dallas, Texas area if anyone can recommend a reasonably priced local mechanic who may be able to diagnose and repair. Thank you.
