Hello folks, I've been having some grief with my Aerostar. I'm getting detonation/pinging under load and from past history my first thoughts were timing to far advanced. Well upon further investigation I found I didn't have a conventional distributor like I'm used to, so that sent me on a new path. I put new wires and plugs, and a O2 sensor but no change. My buddy has a unit that plugs in but we couldn't find where to plug it in.

So my questions are...can anybody tell me where the port is to plug this analyzer in and does anyboy have any experience with this kind of problem.

It should be under the dash, driver's side.

If you don't have a distributor then there is a coil pack. I had to replace mine at about 140000 miles (4L engine).
