ABS Warning light. How do you disable it. 95 Windstar
1995 Windstar.
Does anyone know how to disable the ABS warning light.
It's been on for about 10 years now and I'd like to get it off.
It went off for a couple of years after I replaced a leaky wheel cylinder but it's back on now and I don't reallycare if it has workingAnti-lock or not.
Thanks,
Vaughn

I figured out how to do it.
Also, following advice on this Windstar forum I sprayed silicone into the door latches and got the door ajar light (and interior light)to go out as well.
It'speaceful now without all the lights and bells on while driving.....

Here's how I disabled the ABS light.
I pulled the plastic dashboard apart. There's a couple of screws and the rest justsnaps apart.
Then I took out the screws around the speedometer plastic facing and pulled it off.
Underneath that is a row of mini lamps.
I took out the mini lamp for the ABS, cut off the contacts and then pushedthe lampback in.
You could also put a piece of black electrical tape over the ABSopening on the inside.
In other words, I hid the problem from view. It works for me.
I now have no warning lampslit or bells dinging.
And spray lubricating the door latches got rid of the door ajar bell and light.

If you don't like the light' and you can handle driving without cruise control. You can also pull the cruise control module plug from the underside of the brake master cylinder. (cruise control module). Later models seem to have brake fluid drip into them and short them out. Causing your dash to light up like a christmas tree. Also losing speed , odometer.
Hope it helps!
