I have a 94 aerostar 4.0L 4x4 and it has problems. Yesterday we were driving about and of course being a hot day we had the air conditioner running. All of a sudden the van started to sputter,and lose power. Then it died altogether. After about 15 minutes it fired up and we made it home, almost. It died again so we waited and it eventually fired up again and we got home. Today I got the EEC scanned and the results are as follows:

Running rich bank 1
Fault in injector circuit #11
Fault in air intake heater.

I have researched and found everything from TPS to IAC to MAF to MAP to O2 sensor etc etc etc. What gives?

 

my 94 4.0L xlt did the same thing for a bit. i have 223000 miles

seriously all i did was change the starter cylinoid and used acetone in the gas tank. 1 to 3 oz per 10 gallons. this cleaned out the fuel system and intakes.

it works wonders.
