Default Roof rails.

Have any of you installed factory roof rails atop the 1999-2003 Windstar? I recently bought one side online and while I await for the availability of the other side I’m searching for instructions on what’s needed to install them

Hanky…what’s up m’man hope all’s well with you and yours this season. Hey that’s a good idea—I think I was working up to that as a matter of fact. Thanks my friend

I don't know what you intend to hold down with the rails, but if it were me I would look into some type of anchor to dissipate the pulling force and kinda spread it along more of the roof than just the holes. Some just clamp along the sides and that seems to work well. Please let us know what the manufacturer suggested, thank you.

Thing is, I got a shipment off eBay from a dude selling one side:
May be a little hard to focus
May be a little hard to focus

it seems like I may not have received everything needed to install even the single side. Now one of the tangs on the ends was broken when as it was delivered and I’ll have to do an acetone weld or solder iron it back together (probably both). It just doesn’t seem like it’s for this roof as there isn’t even a tongue to fit in the divots on the roof on either side. I’d messaged the guy that I didn’t think it was applicable.

There is such a thing as overkill, but A lot will depend on what you want to hold down.

If you want to hold down something heavy , Not sure anchors spread into holes in the roof would be OK.

We do see a lot of carry all containers on the sides of the interstates. Wonder if they even knew when it flew off, lol.
