Default Truck dying at stops

Hi and Happy New Year. We have a ford 350 7.3 diesel truck and every-time my husband is driving and he comes to a stop the truck dies. Does anyone have any ideas?

And suggestions is greatly appreciated.

How does the truck behave when you drive it,, just a little humor.
There could be a problem with the torque converter clutch not disengaging. Something you /he can try , before coming to a stop place the shift selector in neutral and see if it still stalls.
