Aspire model year from mfg. date

Aspire model year from mfg. date
I'm looking at buying a 4 door Aspire, but I don't know the model year. (long story) The manufacture date is 7/96. Can anybody give me the model year?
Also, is there any particular problems with this car to watch for? Any problem areas for this particular model?

That vehicle would probably be a 1997 model if it was built in 7/96. The Aspire is not a bad little car if you maintain in regularly. Make sure you check the lower ball joints for looseness and the tie rod ends. The Aspire is Korean with the engine made by Kia.
