I know this was a pre 1950 car, and I know it was a Ford Mercury. I don't know the year and model, i/e "1941 Mercury 19A Model Eight Club Convertible Coupe" vs "1947 Mercury Cabriolet Convertible Coupe"

The pictures are pretty fuzzy, but it looks like a 1946 Merc to me, with the park lights above the grille. 47-48 the park lights were low on the fender, at least on Fords I know this, Mercs could have kept the park lights in the top of the fender but I don't know for sure.
My 1948 Ford has the round park lights in the lower front of the fenders, the '46 had rectangular park lights in the top of the fender.
Also appears to be a convertible?

Yes. Obvious brush guard, convertible, split window car. Super Deluxe? I see in the Ford book '47 and '48 had park light under headlight - so likely not one of those years in Ford models. It also definitely isn't 1940 or earlier. So far that narrows it to '41 to '46 for me. Many Super deluxe Fords had either a Ford script or Ford script in an oval in the rear bumper or the rear bumper guards were spaced farther apart (between the bumper straps on each side rather than with or inboard). Furthermore in 1943 NO civilian vehicles were made and in '44 and '45 only civilian pickups (due to war). So "X" out '43, '44 and '45. No- even the'41 or '42 Super Deluxe and other year Fords don't have that lower part of the grilleopened up. I'd definitelysay Mercury. Now what year Mercury? I have '55 to '64 Mercury front end pictures but it looks like I'm at a loss. Oh wait. I opened a new tab and blinked into hubcapcafe.com and I saw a '47 that has that kinda grille. Also saw a '40 Merc and you can "X" that off for sure.

Definitely a 46 or early 47 Merc. The grill and the above grill parking lights, along with the stainless strip that runs along both sides of the hood make it certain. The 1946 strips extended nearly to the front of the hood. The two strips of the 1947 1/2-1948 extended barely half way forward of the cowl, althoughsome early '47s utilized the '46 hood strips. A Canada version of the 46 had the round parking lights below the headlights, and I believe it also had Ford front fenders. One was called a 114 model and the other a 118 model, but I'm not sure which one was which.
