Default Have a question about 289 heads

A friemd of mine was given some heads from another friend, have a question about them or any info someone give.

This is what his friend told him they are. 1964 289 hipo heads from a Ford Falcon, believe he said it was a sprint. He said they were R code. I've tried a few google searches and found nothing about 289 hipo R code. I did see K code mentioned a lot, so maybe he misread the K as an R. So I'm wondering, did I juse not search hard enough? Also wondering what they may be worth ? One reason I think I may not have looked hard enough is the guy who gave them isn't a complete idiot when it comes to cars.

Thanks in advance!

Hi The R code is a 427. Everybody wishes for those, YUM. I was getting ready to say that there was no k code in '64 but got the book out and sure enough there it was. Should be able to identify by casting numbers with the list.
