Does anyone know how to change out the multipurpose switch (turn signal) in the steering column? My bf is willing to try, but will we need special tools?

 

No special tools required. But before you have the switch replaced (expensive) have a look at the multipin connector (female) that plugs onto the back of the switch. Often the cetral terminal melts and retracts away from making a connection to the switch. If that is the case connector can be fabricated (original is no longer available) by a similar multipin connector and trimming down to size with a small hand coping saw. Standardized connectors are available through your Ford dealor parts counter.
