help please my ford countour will not start
its a 1998 Ford Contour LX
it cranks i know it pases fuel because i can smell it
it has spark i grounded it
it cranks over and over again
when i snap the throttle nothing happens the RPM does not raise i believe the Throttle Position Sensor may be bad
It has enough fuel and spark what can it be please help

 

To many possibilities for a direct hit.
It may not be enough spark under pressure. Check the conditions of the plugs, wires and coil pack.
It may be too much fuel or not enough. Check fuel pressure, conditions of the injectors.
The timing belt (4 cylinder) may have broken or jumped.
The MAF sensor may be defective.
There may be a major vacuum leak.

Since it does not start, the rpm s cannot rise as you push the accelerator.
