I got a free 98 Contour Gl with under 130xxx.
Ive had it for months, no issues. This weekend, I went to get on the highway, and it wouldnt "kick down" to engage in any gear at full throttle. I can drive it around town, except for up hills. I hear it go through 1st, alittle hard into 2nd, and third is norm. When I go to step on it, it hesitates and sounds like a car turning over on a dead battery. I know nothing about Fords or transmissions. I got this car because I am replacing the trans in my Accord Wagon, which is my project car. I am hoping this is not another trans replacement, because I am done with this car then lol. Can anyone help me, or has anyone seen this before. If so, what was done to fix it?
