I have an '89 GM and want to move the front seats 2-3 inches rearward. Is that possible? A short lady owned the car and had them, I suppose, moved forward.
The shop manual does not address this issue. Thanks.

 

If you pull back the carpeting, you might see the original holes as built, if that is what they did.

You might even see old places if you check under the seat pan. Just plain bolts are not sufficient and some plating may be required so as to prevent the bolts from pulling through and help spread the load.
