Oh yes, I was awakened to what salt water can do to a lower end of an outboard that sits in the water all the time.
We had a 100 horse OMC on a 17 ft boston whaler that was used to pull the spill boom when a ship came in to unload. Those were the days when the shift foreman wanted to take the boat out for a ride, I was always invited in case it broke down, never did though, saw to that !
