Just changed out the power steering pump and need to put power steering fluid in. the problem is, I cannot find what fluid I should put in. it is a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria.

What kind or brand of power steering fluid do I put back in?

Plain Ole' ATF. Mercon V will work and is backwards compatible for Mercon requirements.

 

You can use Mercon or Dexron III ATF, Type F ATF or regular power steering fluid these three have same hydraulic properties when used in a power steering system.So, you can use these power steering fluid.

I keep getting myself mixed up, too, but those fluids you listed are transmission fluids . . . I was looking for any particular power steering fluids . . . thanks for you help anyway.

 

The fluids listed are hydraulic fluids that happen to be used in transmissions and power steering units. If you want a red colored power steering fluid use one of the listed ATF fluids and if you want a clear fluid use the higher priced "Power Steering" fluid.
