it has a 460 in it and i cannot find the fuel pump. there was one in the back added later but i cannot find the original locations. none of the fuel pumps work.

 

Being a 1980 model and carbed, it likely has a mechanical fuel pump, it will be bolted on the block, probably in the front, driven off the cam. But being an RV, I could be wrong.

 

tha's what i thouht, but thetre are two gas tanks in the back, two electric fuel pumps, both wore out, and a block off plate up front. what kind of pressure and volume are needed in a fuel pump?

 

If I recall correctly a typical chassis mounted electric fuel pump for carbureted engines only needed to provide about 5-6lbs of fuel pressure and around a qt/min.
Any more than that would overcome the ability of the float to limit the amount of fuel in the fuel bowl. If that were to happen the result would be an over rich condition that was not able to be controlled and the result was flooding..

I seem to remember there was a problem with Ford 477 CID engines that performed better with "Carter " fuel pumps.
