The cable is completely gone off the bottom latch. I have no idea if the latch pulled straight up or straight out or turned. Even a Ford mechanic said he had no idea. There is no way to get a good look even with a mirror,
My daughter has my car so I am driving the van daily. Can't really tear into it.

Some folks may not agree with this, but if I had to repair a problem like this I would get a hole saw, mark out a safe place to drill an access hole on the inside of the door close to that bottom latch , mark out 3 places around the size hole I am about to cut, get to the latch and fix the problem. Then make 3 tabs that I would secure to the back of the hole with sheet metal screws. drill a hole in the 3 places marked on the removed disc and have the 3 screws go through the disc and tabs and the disc would be secure and the latch problem would be fixed. If there was a covering panel on the door , you would never see the access hole behind the panel. I know you know how to do this, the question is , Are you tired of not being able to get the doors open?

I may just take it to a body shop. I need to get the door open. I would like to find all the inside parts for the locks too. The back doors and side doors had the parts removed so they can't be unlocked with a key. You have to use the electric button on the front doors. Can't find a junk van for parts.

Have you tried to get the information from any Ford parts dept. of what years those latches are the same ?
You might have better luck finding a later model in a salvage yard with the same parts , gives you more flexibility.

Found a 94 Haynes manual and there are no diagrams of the doors in it either.

Dd you ever get a chance to check with a Ford parts dept as to whether those parts are the same as some later years? They don't usually change that much.

Even if you were able to determine the parts and numbers, if they are not available through a Ford parts dept, a salvage yard could be your best hope.

How will those parts help if you can't get the doors open? Unless some shop was able to do that for you.

Probably not going to work on it anymore. I have some health issues and my doctor says "nothing strenuous".

Hi Rusty, Sorry to hear you may not be able to solve the door problem. Take care and stay in touch. Pretty sure your keyboard won't be too strenuous.
Wishing you the best !
