Default 1997 E150 A/C question

'97 E150 5.4L Explorer Hi-Top conversion van. I hope this isn't a stupid question but I need to recharge the A/C and my van has the usual front A/C unit under the hood and a rear A/C unit. I've recharged A/C many times before in cars and trucks, but this is the first time with what I'm told are two units. Are they connected and both charged from under the hood through the low pressure inlet, or is there another port in the rear I need to find and fill? I've been living for 3 years with the vent diverter problem these vans are famous for, but at least it's been cold. Last year and this year it's barely been lukewarm. Do I just need to fill the one port under the hood? Any help is COOLY appreciated.

You do know the better way to add refrigerant is with a set of gauges, right ? There are lots of systems that do leak and adding refrigerant is usually all that is required.

One low side port, and as usual be careful and make sure to purge the lines before allowing refrigerant , air and moisture to go into the system.

I have a gauge. I just didn't know if the front and rear A/C units were separate or all connected. Thanks.
