Need advice!! Thinking about buying an E150 van!
Hi there,
I would welcome all input regarding a van I looked at and am seriously considering...
it is a 1997 E150 (conversion) with the 351. It has 185,000 miles on it.
I need it to be road worthy for road trips and camping, maybe driving around town too 3-4 times a week.
Should I be concerned about the miles? There is some maintenance paperwork. Also a little bit of rust on one of the doors.
My other Ford is a 67 Fairlane, its just not the road trip car (yet!)
thanks in advance.

Sometimes a lot of miles with good care don't usually become cause for concern, whereas low miles with little or delayed care can develop into never ending problems.
It is difficult, to say the least, to answer some questions without actually being there to see what is what. It might be a good idea to have your own mechanic/ technician check the vehicle for you since they would see and hear things that we could not and they could offer a more worthwhile answer.

Thanks for the input... the choice was between a Dodge 3500 and the E150, both fine vans. The Ford had a file of maintenance records.. the Dodge did not. even at 175k I'm not scared anymore about all the miles or a journey cross country. (I also had my mechanic take a peek at it, Mechanics being hard to find, MIGHT I ADD!!!)
