Default 1997 E150 Wiring Help

1997 Ford E150 4.6L V8 2WD AUTO

Howdy folks, I need some help here. I am in the process of gutting my E150, which used to be one of those carpeted camper types with plenty of electrical systems (including a TV). So far things have come apart as expected, but I am finding myself leftover with a lot of wiring. Many posts I read here are back and forth with people saying to leave it alone and tuck it away, or to cut away and cap any loose ends that are identifiable. My question is: What's the official answer? These bundles run up to the cab and ceiling. Right now most of it is bundled with electrical tape, but my largest concern lies with them possibly wearing out down the road and causing a fire with future insulation. From what I can tell so far, the majority of it belongs to old speakers and TV control panels.

Also, would I be able to remove this lighting control panel, or is this something that is also left best alone? If so, would I be able to use the existing system and its wires for future lights?

The wooden box you see is a fuse box that seems to control the courtesy lights, among other things I do not think I need but don't mind leaving alone and keeping accessible if needed. I am not sure what the grey and black box belong to, but they aren't in the way.

The only tight way is to check every wire and see where it goes.
From the pix posted it appears vehicle has key less entry. (Remote)

If you just cut wires you will not know until you request a function and get nothing. Now you have no idea of where to start reconnecting.

I will submit diagrams to just the factory wiring in a moment so you can do the color matching at the very least, and any unknown wires you can cut or discard them, then fix any factory wires that have been cut previously so you can restore back to stock as much as possible. Even you plan to run a TV later on, just run fresh new wires.
Give me a moment.

Appreciate it. I do not intend on restoring the van back to its original condition. I do however intend on installing new lights and such, so as far as cutting away unused wires is concerned, do I need to worry about that messing with anything else?
