1998 Ford E250 no front sway bar

I was replacing the upper and lower ball joints on my 1998 E250 and noticed for the first time no front sway bar. Was a sway bar even an option or did the previous owner remove it for some reason?

You can purchase those parts to install, but the previous owner probably removed them for some unknown reason..
