2000 E-250 Starter

I've got an E-250 with the 5.4L and asking if anyone has any tricks to try and get a starter out and replaced. I live in Ohio, so there is rust. The bolts as rather hard to get off, and I can't seem to even locate the upper bolt. Any tips or tricks out there???

 

That top bolt can be a stinker on most engines. What worked for me was to use a universal socket with a 6 in. extension then another universal with another extension and ratchet, all 3/8 drive.
