2001 E150xl rear axel shaft length
Why is my oem rear passenger axel shaft 1 inch longer than the replacement one. All the auto parts stores are telling me the Dorman part# 630-207 is the correct one, but when you put the 2 together my original is 1 inch longer. How is that going to work? Is my axel a different one than the original? I need help please.

A good starting point,
If the axle shaft length for one side is longer than the other , you might have obtained the wrong side..
Try one or two dealership parts departments and see if they can provide the shaft length.
I realize it is not always possible to obtain parts from Ford, but whenever possible we try to stay with OEM.
Dorman usually has good parts, but something went wrong here.

thanks for your reply hanky
I would prefer oem parts but when I looked up on line with the original part number it says that it is discontinued. The other side (driver side) is much longer 35.860” so I don’t know. I will try going to the dealership and
