Installing remote central locking 1997 E350
I have a 1997 E350 with power locks and without factory remote unlock.
I have opened the passenger side door and see six wires coming out of the switch:
- Two Black
- One Black / White - 12V+
- One Red
- One Brown
- One Pink / Yellow
Based on what I've read, I think the Red and Brown are the lock/unlock signals, however I'm unable to activate the actuators either manually or with the remote relay system I am installing:
The factory switch still works.
I believe it is "reverse polarity" which is described as: Reverse- In this system there are no relays in the vehicle. The door lock switch will control the door lock actuators. This switch is typical a 5 wire switch, and the wire are of a much bigger gauge. When the lock button is pressed the switch will supply power to the lock side of the actuator and at the same time ground the other actuator wire. this will reverse when the switch is pressed to unlock.
So maybe I'm supposed to ground something too?
Anyhow I am very confused about this mechanism.
In order to try to make the remote system work, I grounded Yellow and Yellow / Black. The relays are firing in the remote receiver, and I can detect a 12V signal in the parking light wires, however I'm not sure what else to be looking for.
Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks!

So I figured this out after a lot of fiddling.
The yellow/white pairs have to be wired inline to the signal wires (brown and red on mine) and power needs to be supplied to the yellow and yellow black wires.
This post was key, the only difference being the color of my signal wires.
