Default Plug Wires Heeelllppp Plzz!!

Ok I have a 97 e150 with 167000 Miles. I just replaced my plugs and new plug wires do to a misfire I was having. The plug wires keep popping off the plug after a few miles of driving I will have to pull over pop the hood and push the plug boot back Down..only two boots doing it.

The plugs are tight and the boots do pop when I push down. I will be good for a bit then the van will start missing.

why would they do pooping off???

thanks!!

I rec'd your reply re cyls, but I need to know if your vehicle has coil on plug (COP) or spark plug secondary wires. Anything is possible, but the info I checked suggested that the vehicle has cop system. Which does your vehicle have?

I found your reply stating COP under another post.
I need some help from you here, the coils are held onto the spark plugs by a 8mm bolt.
If this is what your vehicle has are you saying the coil is actually getting blown off the plug?
Or,,,,,,,,,,,do you mean the 2 wire plug that goes onto the coil is coming off? If that is the case, the locking tab that holds the 2 wire plug on the coil is broken and when we have that problem one temporary solution is to zip tie the 2 wire plug to the coil .
Where do we stand ?

The long black boot is loose when I feel under the hood as in the silver clamp inside the boot which “snaps” onto the top of the spark plug is no staying snapped. The plug wires them self are in good shape. It’s the actual cop keeps popping off the top of the plug. They are literally two days old and when I installed them I push the boot until I here snap and that short give.

Inside that coil boot is a spring that is supposed to clamp around the top of the spark plug. It sounds like the spring has either been burned off or the heat has expanded the spring coils and they are no longer holding. The coil holdown bolt is there to hold the coil from coming off and to provide an electrical connection . Are the bolts missing ?
