You know we always hope to be able to offer a reasonable solution to a problem.
This is on of those times where there's more than meets the eye ! I don't know how else to put it.
You just get that feeling that you are spinning your wheels and I hope my suspicions are wrong.

CCaven5309,
I suspect your engine has a head gasket problem. I sincerely do not believe there is any problem with the sensors. Evidently the Ford tech that checked it either did not know for sure or may have had other reasons for not pursuing the problem.
There is a good possibility from the described symptoms that it involves the right side head since the heater hoses originate there. If you consider the symptoms and study them you probably will agree. You might consider trying to obtain a cooling system pressure tester and check the system integrity both cold( after sitting overnight) and warm. If there is a leakage when cold the pressure test should show it. If you decide to do something with it like (stop leak) don't expect much because it's just like putting a band aid on an open wound and creates more problems than it solves.

that's why I asked the person to look at the exhaust pipe for the amount of steam or the smell of something sweet.

I think you have a good point there.
I sure would like to know how I could make my exhaust come out smelling sweet.
Just kidding, it's been a long day and it's catching up to me.
