Could anybody advise which wheel a brake line coming out of the ABS module goes to? It sprung a leak and I have to order it from the Ford Parts Department but wasn't able to trace it out easily.

Looking at the side of the ABS Module that the lines connect to, it's the upper left connection. Looking at the ABS module in the orientationi that it's installed, viewing from the front of the van, it's the rearmost line on the top row.

I'm also wondering if the ABS module and the way the brake lines connect to the wheels are the same in the F series trucks as they are in the vans.

 

I can't answer your question about which line it is without looking also, but be prepared to require the use of a scan tool to operate the isolation and dump valves in the ABS control unit to do a complete bleeding procedure. It is pretty difficult to get all the air out without the tool.

 

Hi Hanky. I didn't know that, and I'll have to get a suitable scan tool for that. I looked up some scanners and saw that's a specific function that even some ABS diagnose capable scanners don't have.

 

There is a difference between a code reader and a scan tool. A decent scan tool can run anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000.00. If you are considering purchasing one , make sure you know how much the yearly subscription is to keep it current. Some can range around $600.00 to $700.00 a year.
