Angry 2013 Edg Sport nightmare- Customer Service is useless

I have been a longtime member of the Ford family having leased some 5 vehicles in the past 11 years.

I was one of the unfortunte Edge owners living the MyFordTouch nightmare. I visited the dealership 15 times with issues related to problems with the system before the update and swore never to but another Ford vehicle. Well, the salesman at my local ford dealer called me several times and reluctantly, I let my wife talk me into a 2013 Ford Edge 2 year lease.

What a nightmare!!!!. I have had the car three weeks and have been to the dealer at least one a week since I got the car. The first time I went the check engine light came on and was told it must have been because I put gas in the car and the capless was not sealing properly. OK, my wife left and took the car home. Week two the check engine light came on yet again, and my wfe went back to the dealer who again found nothing wrong.

Week three- Two days ago the service advancetrack light came on and went off.
The next day while my wife was driving the car, the steering wheel began to shake violently and the car lost the ability to steer and accelerate. The check engine, service advancetrack and ABS light all came on. The car had to be towed my local dealership. To the amazement of the service manager, the cars tire rod broke in half.

I called Ford Customer no Service and explained the problems and told them that I wanted a buyback of this lemon which had only 650 miles. After numerous calls, I finally got a call from Brian a Customer Service Manager who told me that Ford was going to fix the lemon and offered me one month lease payment which I told him was unacceptable. He closed the case and put in the system that no additonal action would be taken. I called back to say my wife wanted to accept the offer and was told my a rather harsh customer service person that the case was closed and the offer was off the table.

What a way to treat a longtime customer Ford. No wonder your customer service rating has dropped from 3 to 17th. IWILL NEVER NEVER NEVER, DID I SAY NEVER LEASE, RENT OR DRIVE ANOTHER LOUSY FORD VEHICLE AS LONG AS I AND MY FAMILY DRIVES OR NEEDS A CAR THAT REQUIRES MY MONEY.

FORD HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ALL AUTOMAKERS. YOU HAVE LOST A FAMILY OF DRIVERS BECAUSE OF YOUR LACK OF SERVICE.

I AM STUCK WITH MY LEASE BUT WILL DRIVE AROUND WITH A 6 FOOT NEON SIGN ATTACHED TELLING THE WORLD MY AWFUL EXPERIENCE WITH FORD.

Has anyone else had this experience with Ford the useless auto company?

Default Edge Ecoboost Gas Mileage

My 2013 Edge Ecoboost is fine except for the TERRIBLE gas mileage. How is the gas mileage for yours?
I too am getting terrible service. I reached out to Ford customer service last week and so far NO RESPONSE...

I am sorry to hear about you situation with Ford and your dislike for them know. I am a sales consultant and thus dont have any answers for you, I will however do a little research and see what I can find out for you as far as your problems go. Again, sorry to hear about your situation.

Ever hear of the Lemon Law? Do it today, don't delay.

"the cars tire rod broke in half." Would that be 'Tie Rod"?

Do Not accept ANY offers as by doing so you once again unwittingly entered into a CONTRACT to purchase...either a lease or the car it's self. You don't need anymore contracts over this car.

Tell Brian [and get his last name, and all particulars, phone, e-mail, position, time in position, his boss, and anything else that will be a pain in HIS butt. Make it his problem], "Don't make me come visit you with my 9mm" and see how far you get. [Oh, I'm just kidding here].

Take the wife out of the formula as Ford Warranty [a big difference between the words, Warranty and Guarantee.] types will walk all over her just because she is a women. Call and write 'World Headquarters' in Dearborn, and include a few auto mags as well. Get some momentum and a few others on your side. Document all your efforts clearly and completly...I wrote service for BMW in my youth and I gave away two three series which was about 8 minutes of corporate take.

skip.

I have a 2013 Ford Edge and am real happy with it. I have driven it to Florida and back and several other long trips. I have 14000 miles on it. The gas milage is good with around 20 local and 25 on trips. The only problem I have is with Cabin noise. I changed the original tires at around 10,000 and bought 4 Mechilum tires and Sam's club said the tires I purchased are the best they sell for eliminating road noise. The road noise is still loud on blacktop roads and every tar strip can be felt. I have to turn the radio up to 8 to over come the noise. It is OK on cement roads. I have just started trying to get something done about it. Jim
