I am trying to remove/replace the blower motor resistor on a 2016 Edge SEL, 2.0 engine. What tool do I need to remove the screws??

 

What kind of fasteners do you have there?

Are you sure the resistor is the cause of the problem, since they don't give much trouble.

What is the original problem ?

 

When starting car, heat was set at "HI", and fan running on full speed. Did NOT leave it in those conditions. Can control the heat and or cold temps., but CANNOT control the fan speed. As for type for fasteners, I would call them screws (2), and have been using a phillips with some success. I have loosened the screws, but cannot remove them. Am scared I am doing 'damage' to screw head--if not the right tool.
